From the very start in 1935, AA has\ncollaborated well with people in the press and other media, who have respected what we\ndo and acknowledged our traditions.<br \/>\nWe do not claim to be experts, but we have unique experience both of what it means to\nbe alcoholics and of achieving good, sober lives.\n<p>The principle of anonymity does not prevent us from speaking with journalists, but we\ndo not come forward with our names and pictures. AA's Service Board also has\nmembers who are not alcoholics, and who can represent us in public.<\/p>\n<p>Iflg. Actis&#8217;s rapport \u00ab<a href=\"https:\/\/actis.no\/images\/samfunnskostnader_ved_alkoholbruk_0.pdf\">Societal costs of alcohol use<\/a>\u00bb, alcohol use and abuse cost Norwegian society between 80 and 100 billion kroner per year.<\/p>\n\t<h2>About us<\/h2>\nAlcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of people who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.<br \/>\nThe only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues\nor fees for AA membership. We are self-supporting through our own contributions.\nAA is not affiliated with any sect, religious denomination, political agency,\norganisation or institution.
